I've given up on a lot of comics in my search to expand my geek horizons. I've given up on Silver Age antics that are just too stupid for modern day sensibilities. I've given up on 22-page recaps. I've given up on comics that were written in the days when Marvel hadn't yet realized that they don't have to cram every single panel full of words.
Never before have I given up on a comic halfway through the first page.
The comic in question is Powers, which is supposed to be some kind superhero/police procedural comic where instead of focusing on the superheroes it focuses on the police, kind of like Gotham Central. However, while Gotham Central is good, Powers has this.
I believe I gave up on the third panel, partway between the second "Finch?" and the revelation that Finch "wears a green thing with a thing on his back."
When your main character talks like Solid Snake where has to repeat everything he hears in the form of a question, and in his first scene has a conversation with a guy who can't describe articles of clothing to save his life other than what color they are, it's time for some rewrites.
